Tournaments
Scheduled 1v1 cups let players register, enter a bracket with similarly rated opponents, and advance round by round to the final. The Tournaments tab shows registration, brackets, check-in, results, and recent cup history.
Configure the system in configs/server/tournaments.lua. Progression and a healthy match verifier are required.
Schedule and Brackets
| Setting | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
Name | Los Santos Cup | Cup name shown in the UI. |
EveryMinutes | 60 | Cup interval. |
RegistrationMinutes | 15 | Registration window before the scheduled cup. |
MinPlayers | 4 | Minimum entrants needed. |
BracketSize | 8 | Players per division; supports 4, 8, or 16. |
MaxPlayers | 128 | Total registration cap. |
History | 24 | Completed cups retained for the bracket browser. |
Cup scheduling uses server UTC time; players see times in their local display. At registration close, entrants are grouped by tournament rating into divisions and seeded into brackets. Uneven divisions may include byes. Tournament rating is separate from ranked matchmaking rating.
Joining and Playing
- Open the arcade's Tournaments tab during registration.
- Register with an owned fighter and skin.
- Once brackets are generated, open your division and find your opponent.
- Check in for the round before its countdown expires. You can change your owned selection before checking in.
- Play the match when both opponents are ready. The verified winner advances.
- Repeat check-in for the next round until the final is complete.
Players can compete from different arcade locations. They need an arcade session to register, check in, and play; leaving the menu between rounds does not remove the need to return before the next deadline.
Match Rules
Default cup fights use 3 stocks and 5 minutes, with no items or hazards. The default stage rotation is rooftop, legion, grove, golf, and vinewood. Stages alternate across rounds, and successive cups start further through the rotation. The list is filtered against enabled stages.
Check-In, No-Shows, and Rematches
ReadySeconds = 180gives opponents three minutes to check in each round.- If only one player checks in, that player advances. If neither checks in, neither advances.
- Draws or unverifiable fights can be replayed up to
MaxRematches = 2; exceeding that cancels the affected division. - After a resource restart, unfinished rounds receive
RecoverySeconds = 300to check in again. Interrupted fights restart from the beginning.
Rewards
The default champion reward is Franklin skin 5; the finalist reward is Franklin skin 3. Configure Rewards.champion and Rewards.finalist using valid reward entries and skin indices.
A bye is not a verified win
Prize and tournament-rating eligibility requires a verified fight win and no withdrawal. Byes or no-shows alone do not qualify someone for prizes or rating. An already-owned skin converts according to progression's duplicate reward rules.
Persistence and Operations
Cup state is saved in sd_brawl_tournaments. Preserve it during updates so ongoing brackets can recover. Let fights finish before planned restarts whenever possible, and run brawl_status afterwards.
Use one active resource instance for this database. Running two copies against the same cup table is not a supported way to share tournaments between servers.
